The importance of the quality of sleep

Many people worry about sleep. They fret that they don't get enough sleep or that is not the right quality. Here are my notes from a radio interview that I did on these very questions.

Why do some people sleep better than others?
-Some people do well with the problems and pressures of life. They may be characteristically strong and are able to extinguish and compartmentalize the various areas of their lives. Or you can have a work/life balance good and are able to focus on every part of their lives as they are living. They are able to have times when they work, play, relax and are able to focus on what they are doing in these times. They are mentally and physically balanced.

What factors can affect your sleep?
-There are several things that can affect a person's quality of sleep. The disease can be an important factor. Diabetes and hormonal changes can cause restlessness as can certain medications. They disturb a person's ability to relax with a calm mind and comes out in a comfortable sleep. It may be a good idea to have a cheque from your doctor if there is no Fix sustained in his sleep. Often people with sleep sleep longer than expected to do, but I don't feel rested when they wake up.

What is the role of stress in your sleep?
Stress is the main cause of problems in modern life. It is the largest cause of sick leave from work. Many people have anxiety and stress caused by the volume of work that have to do with the pressure to perform well, concerns to keep their jobs, as well as other pressures and stresses of life with their personal and family life.

Some tips to sleep better?

-Try to organise breaks throughout the day, so there are opportunities to take some personal time, eat, get some fresh air and relax at different times.

-Have meal breaks and be aware of the importance of a healthy diet and not eating a meal heavy too late one night. Moderate alcohol spirits, especially late at night can cause disturbing dreams and restless sleep.

-Exercise is important, especially for people in desk associated jobs. Some people are hard-working mentally but physically underused. Others work hard physically, but do not use their mental faculties. Find out how to use it yourself, mentally and physically can make for a better nights sleep.

-Ensure that the bedroom is comfortable, well ventilated, not too hot and is free from clutter. Keep it as a bedroom, an Office or a closet. It is thought to be a comfortable place for relaxation, peace and security.

-Try to wind down an hour or two before bed. Avoid horror movie, too much time on computer or conversations difficult too close to bedtime or you can play on your mind.

-A relaxing bath or a shower before bedtime can be updated. Essential oils, lavender in the final rinse cycle of your bed and relaxing music can provide a relaxing environment to relax and go to sleep.

And remember that even though in reality you don't go to sleep, but only lie there in bed of relaxation of the body is still performing its essential tasks. Is still healing, renewing, recharge and as such, there is still a lot of advantage gained by time. When you take the pressure off yourself to sleep it turns out that often comes naturally.
